Three years ago we embarked on buying an off-plan apartment on the Costa
del Sol, Spain. We should have completed in January this year but the
developer was accused of money laundering and the white whale case was
born. We had concerns about our property, the estate agents (Ocean
Estates), our solicitors and the developer. People have been trying to
bully us into completing with no occupation licence, snags not
completed, appalling furnishings etc. We are at our wits end and cannot
believe our experience is typical of all Spanish purchases. We are
hoping that we can came to some agreement with lawyers about our
apartment or get our deposit back. I stopped buying your magazine so I
am not sure if you have covered this case in any articles. But there are
a group of people who are very dissatisfied with developers etc. and
need their grievances aired.
Hope you can help.
